We Will Not Back Down

Happy Tuesday, Activists! We hope you had a good weekend. We are sobered by the news of the mass shooting on South Street on Saturday night. And apparently over the weekend 42 people were shot in total. And we know there were many other mass shootings over the weekend in other places around the country. It's unclear how much of this carnage the Republicans want us to accept. But we won't accept it. When 94% of Americans support universal background checks for gun purchases, to name but one gun safety measure with mass approval, we know we are in the majority and the public is on our side. The will of the American people is behind us, so what do we do now? We mobilize voters. This past weekend we did just that. We had two canvasses and three voter registration drives! One was at the Pride March and Festival where we registered about 60 voters! And we talked to them about the issues in the November election. We have many more opportunities for you to join us and do what works to make the changes we need. And for one of them, we're buying you breakfast! Now's the time to get into action. See you soon!
