Happy Tuesday, Activists!
We hope you had a cool, safe and happy weekend. In case you're worried about this November's election (and who among us isn't?!), we have the remedy for your anxiety! The best way to relieve that anxiety and feel better is to take action.
Today we have a few ways for you to do it, and in the coming days we'll have many more. And when we talk to voters, this is what we'll tell them!
CANVASS AND TALK TO VOTERS
This coming Saturday! Now that the temperatures will be cooler, we'll be out there canvassing this Saturday in Oxford Circle neighborhood, where we were for the midterms too. Below is a photo to give you an idea. It has easy access, houses close together to make canvassing easy, and great street parking. And nice people! You should join us!
We do this because canvassing is the most effective way to get voters to vote. And we'll meet for breakfast at an iconic diner, which is on us!
These will be fact-finding conversations, to find out what's on voters' minds and ask about the issues most important in their lives. Simple as that. No trying to convince a MAGA voter to switch to a vote for Biden. We just need to get Democrats out to vote!
We'll provide everything you need and a training at the beginning. And you can canvass with a buddy if you want. If you have never canvassed, this is the one for you! You can even carpool with us.
When: This Saturday, June 29, 11:00 AM
Where: Country Club Diner, 1717 Cottman Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19111
Here is one of the streets:
WANT TO WATCH THE DEBATE WITH OTHERS?
We are not planning a debate watch party because we are preparing for our canvassing and other events talking to voters. And we hope you'll join us in those!
But you may want to watch the debate with others -- either online or in person. So here are some options:
1. You can find a list of online or in person watch parties by checking out the list here.
2. Join the Biden campaign in person in Philadelphia in their Roxborough office. Sign up here.
3. The folks at Pod Save America are watching the debate online on their discord server - so it will be online commentary that I'm sure will be hilarious. You can sign up here with a subscription that helps get out the vote too with a subscription that helps get out the vote too.
CARDS & COFFEE - NEXT WEDNESDAY
Our next Cards & Coffee is next Wednesday, July 3rd at 11:00 AM at Good Karma Cafe on Pine Street. Yesterday was the two year anniversary of the infamous Dobbs ruling, so we are focusing on abortion access again with our special abortion rights postcard. We will supply them too! We do ask that writers buy their own postcard stamps for their cards this time.
Join us to write to voters and remind them that we can't let Republicans win, because as they have promised, they will continue to strip women of their rights.
When: Wednesday, July 3rd at 11:00 AM
Where: Good Karma Cafe, 928 Pine Street, Philadelphia
Here's the card!
