So Much Gratitude

Happy Tuesday, Activists! We hope you've had a wonderful holiday so far and that you have a safe, joyous, and loving New Year. We are so grateful to have been with you this year, doing so much important work. And you did So. Much. Work! We also hope you're taking a breather for a few weeks to enjoy the holidays. We'll be back in action soon enough and we'll see you then. In fact, below you can sign up for our Remember January 6 event. And of course we recommend listening to ULTRA by Rachel Maddow. And let us know what you think! We'll see you all soon (hopefully on January 6)! In the meantime, we wish you all the joy in the world.

'Tis The Season This is the season to be grateful and to give to others less fortunate if you are able. So in that spirit we offer some options for you to extend help to others and support democracy. 1. UN Refugee Agency -- Help support displaced people in Ukraine by donating to this agency, which does so much of this work. 2. World Central Kitchen -- WCK has served 180 million meals to Ukrainians since February. Help them get families through the winter. 3. Philabundance -- This local food distribution center serves 135,000 people per week. 4. The Philadelphia Inquirer -- The media, although sometimes frustrating, is a bulwark against corruption and exists to hold the powerful to account. Think about the major stories that have broken just in the last few weeks, like this one, that inform us about what's happening in our government that we might not have otherwise known about. We need to support our local journalism, and with that in mind, a digital subscription to the Inky begins at $0.99 for 12 weeks. 5. HIAS PA -- This organization has long helped support and assist immigrants and refugees. If you want to help the immigrants Gov. Greg Abbott just sent to Vice President Harris's official residence in sub-freezing temperatures, this is one place to do it.

Keep January 6 in Focus!

Before you know it, the January 6 anniversary will be here. So mark your calendars before you head off to your holiday celebrations. We are planning a fun event to remind voters that we must keep in focus the real threat to democracy made all to real by the attack on the Capitol on January 6. We all must remember how close we came to losing our democracy and that we need to constantly protect and defend it. Sign up here. We had so much fun when we did a similar event several months ago. We'll meet again just south of City Hall on the dividers where Broad Street heads south. We'll have light-up signs again to remind voters as they drive by that we all must fight for our democracy every day. When: Friday, January 6, 5:00 pm Where: South side of City Hall, at Broad Street on the traffic dividers Sign up here.

Listen to ULTRA by Rachel Maddow and tell us what you think! Have you listened to the podcast "Rachel Maddow Presents ULTRA"? It's awesome and has so many similarities to the issues we have been facing for the past six years. How about Members of Congress colluding with Nazis before World War II? Yes -- Nazis. This is a story we should have been taught in school -- but we weren't. So we're learning this history now. Plus, word is that Steven Spielberg may be interested in making it into a movie! Some of us at Indivisible Philadelphia HQ have been listening to it and we thought it would be fun for all of us to share our comments about it. You can find it wherever you get your podcasts or here. Just reply to this email to share your comments, or tell us on our Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook pages. We'll share the best ones here in later newsletters, sort of like a book club, but instead for a podcast.

35 Doors Project! Even though election day is over, it's always the time to get interested in our 35 Doors Project! We always need to sign up to talk to voters in our neighborhoods to get out the vote. This is some of the most important work you can do -- and it's fun! Check out our 35 Doors Project on our website. Email us here for more info.
