Happy Friday, Activists! We hope you've had a great week! But before you head into the weekend and all your holiday shopping and decorating, if you haven't already we hope you'll check out Tuesday's newsletter, with our Giving Tuesday suggestions and Call To Action. You can see earlier newsletters at this link. Today's a good day to make a call to our senators again along the lines of Tuesday's Call To Action.
OUR 35 DOORS PROJECT Just a reminder that we are going strong with our 35 Doors Project and we'd love to have you be part of the team. Learn more in this short and fun video featuring one of our Neighborhood Leaders.
To recap, in this project to increase voter turnout our Neighborhood Leaders engage with their neighbors to talk about voting and elections at 35 addresses in their neighborhood. You’ll go to doors a few times per year and use the information we provide about upcoming elections. You’ll be ready to be the local election expert after our training session and the information and handouts we’ll provide. We’ll also provide the addresses in coordination with you, plus handouts, door hangers, election information – everything you’ll need! If you want more info or to sign up email us at this link!
OUR NEW MESSAGING PROJECT You can see our Messaging explainer in our recent newsletter here. In short, each week we’ll give you short, strategic talking points that you can use when you’re talking to friends, family and neighbors and in your social media networks. These are meant to show how the Biden agenda and massive investments the Democrats are making in our country will help everyday people. Here is this week’s message “It doesn’t matter where we live – Philadelphia, Ardmore or Doylestown – we deserve reliable internet to connect us in our learning, work, and communities. For years, corporations have neglected areas they say don’t make them enough of a profit. Now, the Infrastructure & Jobs Act means broadband delivered to tens of thousands of families who can’t get reliable internet, so more kids can to do their homework at home instead of sitting in a McDonald’s parking lot.”
ANOTHER MESSAGING OPPORTUNITY Do you feel strongly about an issue but don’t know how to write about it? Would you like some help writing a letter to the letter that thousands will see? We're here for you! Email us and we’ll help you get started on your letter with the information about the issue and a template. Email megberlin271@gmail.com to get all the info you need.
CANVASSING
Our last one of the year!
We’ll talk to infrequent Philadelphia voters and persuade them to vote in next year’s mid-term elections, to help ensure Democrats are elected to the U.S. Senate and PA Governor’s seats. We use Deep Canvassing techniques and we'll give you all the information about that before we start. We have talking points for you and all the info you need!
We've had numerous fantastic conversations in these canvasses, so try it out!
When: Sunday, December 12, 12:30–2:30 pm
Where: Queen Village – We’ll meet at Cianfrani Park, 8th and Fitzwater Streets.
Sign up here.
Have a great weekend and we'll see you next week!
